WtR Hiatus
This is the first post for the new mirror site, I hope the new viewers like the place.
Anyway Way too Random (WtR) is on hiatus till the end of the month. What does that mean? Well, basically it means that there will be no real content until probably right before Christmas. Sorry ... However I will try to put up some sketches, although that isn't much to talk about. Look you all got a crap load of comics to look at here! Go read Heritage or Dream is Destiny ...

Progress
Here is what I've accomplished:Here is my current plan of action:
- We're experimentally hosting 5 comics at the moment, though I'm not sure how many people are *actually* interested in publishing here.
- We have this front page newsblog that can be used for announcements. I can add additional team members through Blogger so that multiple authors can publish to this page simultaneously. (I will not give everyone this privilege. You be making an active contribution to the site in order to have something worth announcing.)
As you know, we were denied permission to host LoR. This is unfortunate, since there is another mirror site out there that isn't affiliated with the current clan that never asked permission. Incidentally, the comics on the sidebar are listed more or less in seniority order. If you want, you can argue your way up the list or something; I don't care about the order that much.
- Set up additional comic folders for those who want them.
- Delete drupal.
- Have Presence set up individual ftp accounts for each person with a comic on this site. That way they can upload images to their personal folder. (I'd like to have an idea of how many I'll be needing so I can set up some "blank" ones if needed for future expansion.)
- Give those comic people front page blog posting privs to announce updates and stuff.
- Work on graphics. Minimal design enhancements and stuff. (Figure out how much of each person's comic page layout will have continuity with the site and how much will be left to their preference.)
- Discuss additional features with you folks.
As far as the future of the site... well, I'm putting this thing together from extraneous scraps of code. It isn't as shiny looking as drupal, and doesn't allow for you to sign directly into the site to perform all functions. However, there are several things we can still do with this space, and I'm a lot more optimistic about this than I was before. Think on the things you want to see, and think on HOW to do those things. It'll be time to talk about them soon. (It is my hope that you'll be requesting certain features because they'll help you contribute content to the site.)
Lastly, this is a very stripped-down look. I'm going to improve upon it later with some templates and pretty pictures. I'd like to move away from clanBOB's red and black and to something white. What kind of look would make you happiest?
